suginami, could you please PM me on the wed address of the German Parts place? Thanks, I just bought a 94 E320 from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and drove it back to CT. BTW, averaged 26.6 mph effortlessly cruising at 80 mph.

There are two German websites that I've ordered from:

www.matrixcar.de for the S600 grill and the sill plates.

www.eris-car.com for the steering wheel.

I wish I would've found these sites earlier. Matrixcar.de sells my shift knob and the chrome surround for much less money than I paid at www.************************

Your mileage is incredible.

My total average gas mileage in my E320 is 22.5 mpg.

My best mpg ever is 25.9 on a shakedown cruise to Las Vegas.

I have a '91 and just made a 900 mile trip. I averaged right at 27 mpg. Mine just had a valve job though and it was cool weather.

Mr. Bill, congrats on the terrific mileage. Maybe my mileage suffered a bit as my average speed was about 80-85 mph.

This is kind of an apples to oranges comparison, though, as yours is a 3.0 liter M103 and mine is a 3.2 liter M104 engine.

My average is only 21.5 mpg and my car runs lean!! My driving is mostly at 60-65, a little 35-40, some stop and go and some at 75-80. So mixed would be a good description.

suginami, I ordered the Shift Knob and the shaft yesterday. Missed the lower price by a day!! Maybe I can get the surround from the other website.

I have noticed some missing or more like a hiccup at idle, more noticeable at cooler ambient temperatures.

References have been made to the 124 driving nimbly! The one thing these cars are good at is triple digit speeds. Compared to the 126, 124 maybe better around town, but my 99 Pontiac Montana is quiter and easier to drive around town. Smooth take off from a traffic light is very tricky on my 124. Maybe its the difference in the accelerator pedal calibration.

On the highway is where my W124 always brings a smile to my face and everything else is forgiven!! I would choose this car again, even over majority of the 2003 offerings!

Our 95 wagon has that same gas pedal feel not found on the 91 300E. I finally lubed the cable and the linkages and it did make it much smoother. You have to really get down into the linkage to lube it. There are several links that are well hidden but also are often neglected and get rusty easily.

Oh, and to lube the cable, I detached one end from the engine and held it up while I let the lube dribble down. I moved the cable in and out several times.

Hope this helps, keep us posted,

Haasman

The search is over. I'm the proud new owner of a 1994 E320!!! The drive to work will never be the same again. I'll be replacing the engine wiring harness within a few days, as well as the usual maintenance items. I hate to be brief, but I have to go program the radio to my favorite stations!!! Thanks for the help guys.

Hey man, congratulations!!!!

We need details: color, mileage, condition, etc.!!!!

I'm sure you're going to looooove this car. You have surely worked on them from time to time, and you know how nice these cars are and how well they hold up.

Is it impolite to ask how much you paid for the car?

This is great. It is one thing to work on them, another to own and drive one.

Enjoy! I am very happy for you.
