What else should I replace?
Hi everyone
1985 190e 2.3 I am currently in the process of planning out the removal of my timing cover in order to replace the tensioner blade which is cracked and the result is a high pitched whine at all times. I don't see this part on Fastlane, or anywhere else, does anyone know where I can find it? Once I get the timing cover off, what else should I replace? for sure I will replace the timing case gasket, the main front seal, possibly the timing chain link, althogh it's less then half a year old, I just don't like the way it was done and I'm afraid that it might break at some point because of that. The sprockets are brand new, as well as the guides. TIA xp

Hi xp!
You gonna hate me because I told you this. If I recall right you do have a copy of MBusa service cd-rom. On this there is a pdf on adding a oil nozzle that sprays oil on the chain itself. The oil nozzle was added to later model w201 engines. That a look and if you don't find it drop me a mail. This is maybe not an easy addon but maybe it's worth the effort if you're planning to use the car for a long time. Just my 0,02 cents And if you don't have the ratchet type tensioner maybe it's a good idea to get one. The difference is that this type tensioner will keep tension even thou there is no oil pressure on it. Less rata-rata-rata sound when cranking up engine
