hi...i have a 89 300e with the us-spec. headlamps...even on these lights, i know that there are vertical and horizontal adjustments for the beams...my question is, which of the two knobs corresponds to the vertical adjustment...my light pattern for the left headlamp seems to be "shorter" than the right one, with most of the light concntrated 5-6 feet in front of the car, while the right headlight extends far into the distance...also, which direction do i turn to have the vertical adjustment go up...clockwise or counterclockwise? thanks...

Vertical adjustment is the top knob. Turn clockwise to raise aiming point and vice versa. Tip: spray the threads on the adjusting screws with WD-40 or the like before proceeding, as they will get corroded and it's easy to strip out the threads on the adjusting knobs.
