Audi Power Seat Question Help

The power passenger seat on my 1993 Audi 100 does not work. When you push the buttons on the side of the seat, nothing happens at all. I just bought the car and the passenger seat is really close to the dashboard. I need to get the seat to work to move it back. I was wondering what could be wrong. The motors don't make any noise so I don't think they are bad, because if they were I'm sure you would hear some type of noise. The manual says the fuse is an auto resetting one. This means that the fuse panel doesn't contain a fuse for the power seats. The heating feature works, but the power adjustment doesn't. Also, my drivers seat works perfect. Any ideas of what I could do??? I really don't want to take it to the dealer and pay 70 bucks to have it checked out. I'd sooner check it out myself. Thanks a lot,
Ryan

Where are the controls... on the door? If so, check the wiring where it flexes at the hinge. This is a common problem spot.

Audi Power Seat Not Working

The Seat controls are at the bottom side of the seat. It's sort of hard to get to the wiring, but if I can, what sould I do?

Ryan,

I would check the fuse box and/or the manual just to make sure there are not any fuses for the right front seat.

Is there any power going to the seat? Are you sure the heated seat feature works and not just the lights? Do the seats actually get warm?

Next, I would look under the seat and see if there is a wire connector that has pulled out or apart.

I would also call the local Audi dealer and ask for the shop foreman. Tell him the year and model and ask if there is any common failure to these seat adusters. Sometimes they are very helpful and can offer a simple bit of advice or where to look.

Keep us posted,

Haasman

Thank you

I will try what you said. I will keep you posted on what happens. If the seat wasn't so close to the dash, I wouldn't be so worried. But the car is in such nice shape i want to have everything working well.
