OOPS! I broke something on my 300e
Hello, board I was replacing my injector seals when I mistakenly broke a Vacuum type sensor on my 300e. It has 2 vacuum lines coming out of it and it's located near the #2 fuel injector(on top of the engine block). It looks like a small bolt with 2 vacuum lines coming out of it. I removed it and coolant came out of the engine block when I removed it. I think it deals with the coolant temperature. Does anyone know what it is and what it does??

what are the effects of running my car with the part broken?

I think it's part of the EGR system. It shouldn't be a big deal to connect the vacuum hoses bypassing the thermoswitch until you get a replacement. It will probably only affect performance until the engine gets to operating temperature. Don't wait too long just in case.

No Crystal ball
I hate to be the bearer of bad new, but It'd be next to impossible to give you a part name/number with seeing the bugger. But help is / might still be available. Phil at Fastlane/Partsshop might be able to E-send you a schemation that includes your part on it. You could then converse/order the part form him. The folks at performance products also make a catalog that has the scematic in it. You might pursue one or both of these avenues to find the offending part name/number....Sorry again
