The proper place to put the badge is...wherever the heck you want to.
I put mine in the right section, just off the center line on the 560. Pefect spot to cover a road ding in the grille insert. For asthetics, I put the one on the 4.5 in the same general spot.

Yep, like Mike says it's your car and your badge. I promise that MB won't send out the badge police if you don't put it where they wish.
Enjoy, |

Larry,
What are the mileage requirements for a badge and how would I obtain one if my E320 has enough miles? |

Your 320 has sufficient miles to wear the first badge. Application for the mileage award can be obtained from MBUSA by dialing 1-800-FOR-MERC. They'll send out an application, you fill out same and get it signed off at the dealer (in most cases). The dealer will probably not even know what you're talking about, they'll just want to sell you a new car because your's is soooooo old. Eventually someone will sign off and you send the form back to MBUSA. In 3-8 weeks you too shall be sporting a bright shiney new gold 250K badge.
250,000 km = ~155,312 mi 500,000 km = ~312,000 mi 1,000,000 km = ~526,000 mi

Soooooo true. Heck, our dealer thinks my C230 with 138,000 kilometers (86,000 miles) is WELL beyond it's useful life. I think the engine is finally just getting broken in. Otoh, maybe not, as it still has not used a single drop of oil.

"250,000 km = ~155,312 mi
500,000 km = ~312,000 mi 1,000,000 km = ~526,000 mi" I think your ratios have started heading non-linear at the end, Mike! I think the last would be about 620,000 mi. Steve |

You're right, should be 621,327! Amazing what plugging the wrong number into the calculator (and not double checking) will do.
