Overheating when A/C on

Car gets extremely hot (almost to red on temp gauge) when a/c is on. Aux fan does not come on and after awhile, antifreeze leaks from a hose around the a/c box that doesn't appear to be cracked (leaking from the coupling). Any suggestions?

What kinda car it is? I would not run the a/c until it is resolved. You aux fans are obviously not coming on in addition to who knows what else. You need to go through your cooling system to resolve it. It should not go above 100 dC when the engine is running. Based on which car it could eventually blow a head gasket.
