fuel injector shaft
 

Have a 1981 300d diesel that i am rebuilding, Have lower end done. Having difficulty installing fuel injector shaft. The helical gear for the oil pump is not aligning with thw fuel injector shaft. Do i pull the oil pump off and turn the shaft with a screwdriver and align the feul injector shaft? Or can i pull the helical gear out from the top where a bolt that seems to hold it in place is? have manuel but does not exactly show this procedure. I took the pump and shaft out on dissasembly. Any help would surely be appreciated. :mad:
