96 C280 Water Pump Hex Bolt Size?
 

Hi, There are hex bolts holding the water pump on the 96 C280.

I cannot find hex drivers to fit. 5mm too small and 6mm appears to just sightly too large. Is this a special size hex driver to remove the water pump bolts.

Should be 6mm. Either your tool is worn down or the bolts have been hogged out in the past. Be carefull, If you round one out,
life will become very painfull. I put some valve lapping compound on my allen tools to prevent them from slipping under pressure.
this seems to work pretty good for me.

The water pump has never been replaced but the bolts heads look like they are worn, as spalled. May need to carefully tap 6 mm driver into place. I will use your valve lapping compound idea.
