94 E320 - require Syn oil or dino?

On my new to me 94 E320, did this car initially used synthetic oil from the factory, or was dino oil used? Thanks.

I believe you car came with dino oil from the factory. It wasn't until 1996 or 97 that synthetics were factory fills.

Dino was standard even later than that. Hence the lawsuit about 98 and 99 cars with FSS using dino with long change intervals.

Oh sweet Jesus. Oil threads are the most discussed and debated topic on this site. This topic has surely been mercilessly beaten to death too many times.

Please avail yourself of the search function for "dino oil" or "synthetic oil", and you'll be happily (or unhappily) reading these posts for weeks on end.

OMG, edge. I thought you knew better than to ask that. Now this could be fun. Let's have a ten page thread jumping all over him for asking the question, and nobody answer it.

Your Oil Question: Dino vs Syn

Edge,

I woud recommend going back and deleting your question. Then do a search. Save the threads, find a long weekend and start reading. After you have done that, simply decide for yourself.

In a nutshell this specific topic has been beaten to death with strong opinions both ways.

With all due respect,

Haasman

To settle this debate once and for all:
Dino oil is out
Synthetic oil is out.
As of today, eveybody use vegetable oil
Now the question,
olive oil?
canola oil?
soybean oil ?
Coconut Oil?
Soybean Oil?
Corn Oil ?
Cottonseed Oil ?
Grapeseed Oil?
Peanut Oil?
Sesame Oil?
Sunflower Oil?
Walnut Oil ?
