If you do a search under the heading " change it hot & change it often " , all your questions will be answered.

of course you know that you'll get a better cut if you put in a Bosch Platinum 4 and a K&N air filter on that rear bagger . . . just make sure you don't over oil it or let too many clippings get on the MAS . . .

True ... except I only use the mulching feature. I actually think it is great .... but the wheels really are bad and I am wondering if going oversize .... any opinions?

My vote is for:
20" HRE 504's, just extend the crankshaft down the same amount, to retain your cutting height as before. Some semi-knobby tires, ( anything but a french make ), oh & make sure you get them balanced static & dynamic, with the weights on both sides. Not sure about roadforce requirements ( unless you ever walk your mower down the street to the nearest bar ). The Gardenmaster GSP 9700 should serve all your balancing requirements. And NEVER over or underinflate the tires.

There is such good advice here .... I think I should ask another question: If you look closely on the top of the mower you will see the dipstick knob. Now when the oil is supposed to be drained .... I can:
1. Turn the mower on its side and let the oil come out the in... 2. I could raise the mower and locate the drain plug underneath ... 3. Or I could use my SuckVac. What is the best way? How much oil will be left in the engine? Oh, and will a limo rear swaybar fit the front? Thanks

You my friend are a nut!
But I'll bite. Subtle pinstripes, (as befits such a classic) , Try Tire Rack- I have the Borbet 5-spokes on my Miata (look good) Try typing year and model, and search wheels there for "your Look" Keep us up to date!! Mel |

haasman:
I put mine up on blocks and drain from the drainplug. No idea how much it takes to fill. If you can't find out. Start out with .5qt and measure....keep going until the dip stick reads full. oh...I filled mine with left over Mobil 1 15-50 from my last Diesel oil change

The ultimate..
Come on, dad!
The ultimate has always been the gold kitted, two-tone pinstripe "ass-sitter" with chipping chrome three-spoke wheels. Now why would you settle for less with your lawnmower? And I think we determined from a previous thread that synthetic oil definitely gives it a "smoother ride". |

I suggest 10w-30 fully synthetic. That fine "automobile" deserves only the finest.
