The car is an 87 260E. The front dome light doesn't go off when the switch is in position (d) and the doors are closed. What controls the delay function and where is it located? Is this a DIY job?

The dome light delate relay is part of the dome light unit.check with partsshop for $$$
have you switch the door switch from left side to right see it will go out ?
