I had my headlights replaced last year because they cracked do to truck in front dropping load (rocks). I want to find out if these are vacuum adjustable. How do I find out?

Willy

US DOT headlights do not have the vacuum adjusters in them. If you have E-spec (european) headlights, then there is a vacuum tilt system that allows you aim the main beam lower to compensate for rear weight tilting the front of the car upwards.

sorry i did not answer this on our email.

if 'dot' is etched in the lens on your lights, you would have to get euros to have this feature.

there is a grey [same color as back of light assembly] 'nipple' type fitting just above the wiring socket of the headlight assembly. this is where the vacuum line goes. this is one way to tell.

also if you open the back cover there should be a round white SMALL canister like device this is the actual adjuster.

the wiper nozzle is all boxed [small m.b.part box] up and ready to be mailed tomorrow.

in the article scroll about half way down the pix on the right show a black 'canister' device [same thing]

hope this helps

peter

My vacuum tilt adjuster doesn't seem to function at all.

The vacuum line is connected.

Any ideas where I can start checking/testing?

It seems to me that it is a simple system (?) with few components (?) to it.

Thanks, guys.

Thanks all.

A close look at my headlights shows "DOT", so I guess I'm out of luck.
