the fuel pumps are located(under the car) on the right rear of your car,in front of the rear tire. It is located under a protective shield that requires the removal of 4 sized 10 bolts. After removal of the shield, the fuel pumps are both similarly sized you will see a large beer can sized canister also, that is the fuel filter. I hope this helps. By the way, change your fuel filter while you are under there.

i think its underneath the fuel tank next to the fuel pump

use the fastlane section and check out a pic of the fuel filter itself

IT IS VERY SIMPLE,DONT LET ANYONE CHARGE YOU BIG $$$ TO CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER!!!

Well its simple, Open the gas tank first in order to release pressure in the fuel system , now you will need 2 open ended wrenches. I think they are a size 13. They both will need to be very close to each other seeing that the fuel filter connection and the fuel line connection are in close proximity. Well, put both open end wrences on the connections, hold one still and turn the other connection, that will free the fuel filter. any questions, feel free to ask away.

I just did mine..

I used a hose clamp on the fuel line. But you WILL have gas running down your arms when you take the old filter off. -No big problem though.
I all took about 10 minutes.

It may save some trouble to get a good look at the fuel filter on your car before ordering a new one. If you can, write down the part number. You may save yourself a return shipping charge. I had problems from more than one site where the listed fuel filter was different from the one I had on my car. They shipped a filter with threaded ends, when the correct filter (0 450 905 275) on my car had nipples for a clamped hose.

hey guys just this morning i took my car for an oil change and i asked the guy to replace the fuel filter too it took him not even 10 mins and he charged me 10 dollars for it WHAT a great difference in ride now cant belive it and if u have seen my earlier posts regarding unstable idle even the dealer was unable to fix that problem well today i m glad to tell u guys that its been solved it was due to a clogy fuel filter and the dealer said that he had to replace the supressor witches
NO DOUBT its a DIY job(if u dont mind getting sprinkled by the fuel or if u have the right toolsz) but for me it was worth it 10 dollars atleats i stayed on the side looking while this guy replaced it
QUESTION ...what is a MAX life on a fuel filter i have a 1993 400 e
thanks guys once again for all ur help

Edge,

Do you feel as silly as I do being intimately familiar with the 126 series and completely lost in a different MB?

Sixto, I feel like a newbie when I open my W124! I was looking for the familar spin on fuel filter and couldn't find anything like it. Now I have to get under the car pull off 4 bolts just to see if it is a thread on or nipple on filter! How long have you had your S420? That's a nice looking car, how do you like it? I have to pick up a service manual.

suginami?

suginami, do you know if the 94 E320 has a thread on or a nipple on fuel filter? I was going to order it ahead of time rather then take time to unbolt it and look at it before I order it, thanks.
