Leaking Sunroof..Search provided no concrete results

I guess a 7-yr old MB (1996 C220) can't be without SOME problems! During a severe rain storm the front edge of my sunroof was leaking. It especially got bad as I accelerated from a stop. Not a drip here or there...a lot worse than that.
I did a search on this topic and the most common answer for a similar problem was that the drain plugs were clogged.
After the rain, I opened the sunroof and checked the drains. I got a big cup of water and poured it into the side of the sunroof, where the water travels, and the water effectively drains towards to the front and down the drains (on both sides) with ease. To the best of my observation, there is no debris anywhere.
I looked closely at the front sunroof seal (aluminum looking "L" bracket with a rubber top. The rubber looked very good and pliable (no dryness or cracks).
It seems to me that some of the water is somehow getting trapped/collected under the front edge of the sunroof and then leaking down (front center, right by the rear view mirror/light assembly).
On the search, someone suggested removing small velcro pad on the front edge (center) of the sunroof glass. Another poster said NOT to do it since this will cause wind noise and more leaking. What exactly does this small square pad do?
Any suggestions on what to check next is appreciated. Since I can't find any repair manuals for this car (supposedly, it hasn't been written by MB yet!) I can only rely on tips from others. How could I adjust the sunroof? It could be that it is not setting in the closed position all the way, allowing some water to leak through. Thank you all for any insight. Even with these little problems that have popped up here and there (newly purchased as a repo) I still love this car!!!

Randy,

Did you ever figure out what was the problem here?

Keep us posted,

Question Leaking sunroof possibly fixed

Here's an update on my leaking sunroof. I noticed that the rubber seal had a "dent" in it where the small velcro patch on the leading edge of the sunroof was. Careful examination revealed (at least I thought it did) the water was leaking through the center where this dent in the seal was.
I removed this small velcro patch and repeatedly plied the rubber where it was pushed out, so as to make it completely straight. I can still see this dent when the sunroof is open, BUT, it hasn't leaked again!
I've even tried to spray a heavy stream of water directly onto the sunroof's front seal and it still held. I've also had the car out in some pretty heavy rain all day, even driving in it, without a single drop of water coming through.
Don't know if I mamaged to fix it, but so far so good.
As soon as I can find a replacement front seal I'll change it out..just to be safe.

Seal

It is available on Fast lane, and at the dealer for about $120.
Look at the old install, there is a thin end and preformed corners start with those. I had a rust spot one on my 92-S, and they replaced it, someone cut a piece out to make it fit the roof would not work properly. They ordered a new one at their cost, and I installed it, used a wall paper roller to seat it. Works great now!
