dear Colleagues
Not sure if earlier comm got through--isp probs here!

Anyway--this car is driping quite small amounts of ATF from , what appears a seal between transmission and torque converter??

Talk here from one service outfit--is that a mod can be done which invlves fitting a teflon bush--that cures these drips. Others say seals--all require removal of the transmissin. another says ignore it if the drips are smallish??

Guidance will be much appreciated--I have looked in search, and lots seems answered barring teflon bush idea--and none specific to 300E

Many thanks

Ed

Sounds like a leaky front transmission seal. Pretty typical once you get some miles on them. Pretty straight forward job to pull the tranny and replace it. Whenever I have a tranny out I usually go ahead and replace the rear seal too. Pay close attention to the fluid level and you can run for a long time with it leaking a little as long as you don't mind a little spot on the ground wherever you park.
