The ultimate Oil !!!

Just read the road test on the 2003 Ferrari Enzo.
The oil specified by Ferrari is Shell Helix 10 W-60 synthetic.
Capacity: 12.2 quarts
Price per quart $ 60.00
Total cost of oilchange, minus filter(s) $ 732.00.
Oh, and if you don't use it, the $ 200 000.00 engine is not warranted.
Think about it, for $ 732.00 all the people here using dino oil, could buy a lifetime supply of oil. ;)

Yeah I saw that too. Frankly it's a steal! If a set of brake pads cost $6000 and a set of rotors cost $24,000, sixty bucks for a quart of oil is a relative bargain, don't you think. ;)

I also note that the Enzo has rubber timing belts, just like a '72 Vega. Wow, ain't that hi-tech! It's all part of the welfare program Ferrari owners have to participate in as a cost of ownership to support the dealer service departments with complicated and expensive maintenance.

I could have a lot more fun vintage racing a 2-liter Chevron or Lola. It could lap Willow Springs faster, and I could do most of the maintenance myself as I've always considered wrenching part of my car hobby.

The world is full of a lot of people who seem to have more money that sense.

The beauty of the Enzo, Murcielago, and any other exotic sports car for that matter is in driving it, not working on it. People buy the cars for the fun of actually driving one, which cannot be matched by any other car (accept a F1 or other race car). Personally if I had enough money to buy an Enzo, and could find one to buy, I would defiantly go for it. Driving a car like that would be like no other, 0 - 60 in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 218, not to mention the handling with its middle mounted engine and extremely low center of gravity. The only drawback to the design of the Enzo that i see is that its not four wheel drive.

I hate to sell it but I have to meet ends meet for my evap/compressor project.
