1997 E420 sideview mirrors not working
 

The sideview mirrors on my '97 E420 have stopped operating properly. When the driver's side is selected the mirror tilts outward regardless of the direction you select. Likewise, the mirror on the passenger side when selected on tilts inward. Is there an easy (inexpensive) fix for this?

It's unlikely a problem with the motors in the mirrors. It would be unlikely they both failed at once, leaving me to suspect the switch. Problem there is the switch is actually the entire lower switch assembly, called the lower control module. Probably fairly expensive, easy to replace though.
