This is a sprin type tensioner, so once it is engauged, it is not adjustable. Just use a long extension to hold the plastic lever and take out the 13mm bolt and nut. Then release the lever, thus releasing the tension on the belt. You usually do have to take off the fan for this. And for that you will need a specail tool. (Short 8mm allen and pulley holder.)
Pay alot of attention to the routing of the belt before you remove, for I have seen many on wrong!! We sell a Service Cd for this model...It is a 201 CD. ------------------ Benzmac: 1981 280GE SWB 1987 16V ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |
