Dashboard Vents

Well, I've tried posting my question twice and no one seems to know an answer, but I'll try just once more for luck.

My car's a 1970 250C with wood dash trim that's in terrible shape. I want to remove it to have it fixed up.

But among other things I need to separate the ducting behind the dash from the round vents (near doors). I've removed the glove box and peeked around at the passenger side duct. It's not obvious how the duct detaches from the vent unless it just pulls off. I didn't notice any clamps. Can I do it without breaking it?.

Well I typed this the first time but it disappeared.

The hose just pulls off but whether any 30 year old plastic can be handled without breakage is another story.

Thanks. I was able to work the flexible hose off, then the hard plastic pieces too. There are some shallow locking tabs that hold the pieces together. Didn't even break any of it!
