For such a special occasion (Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young concert) I got the 250SE Cabrio out of winter hibernation, threw the top down, loaded it up with a bunch of friends and headed on down to what has to have been the best concert I have ever seen. Those guys have surely aged, but boy can they still harmonize and on the very last song, Neil Young soloed until his guitar strings broke! I was and still am in great awe. Wow! Moral of the story: If they come to your city....GO SEE 'EM!

P.S.--The 250 ran great and was thrilled to be out on such a glorious night!

Aaron,

I'm envious of your evening. However, I don't know how old you are, but I was about twenty when C,S,N & Y were at Woodstock(I wasn't there, I was in another part of the world while in the Army). But I'm old enough to certainly remember the times.

Sounds like you did the right thing by enjoying one of your cars for the special occasion. However, it would probably have been more appropriate to find VW Microbus or a Psychadelically painted school bus.

Thanks for telling us about the great drive and the great concern.

Peace,

Larry,

Hehe, the thought of driving a friend's '72 Westfalia bus did cross my mind, but the last thing we needed was to be pulled over and searched so I figured the 250 would be an appropriate car (and was built in the same era) for the show. Anyhow, they did an amazing 30 songs and played for about 3 and a half hours! I've seen alot of shows, but that one will always stick out in my mind. Like I said, if they come to your city, I would strongly recommend seeing them. This might be their last tour, as they're looking pretty rickety!

You gotta luv it when the old farts start talking rock-n-roll! I also find it refreshing when I see a thread talking about the karma of cars, versus what kind of oil to use. I love this web site, but sometimes it gets pretty dry. You guys do a good job of keeping these things in perspective!

BTW, I am currently enjoying a 1985 VW Cabriolet that I bought at the auto auction last fall. I wnet looking for a Jeep Wagoneer (the real old type that was a true jeep, not these preppy toys they sell now) to pull my project boat and came home with the rag top. New tranny, clutch, timing belt, tires and muffler and now I am enjoying the sunshine! I use it for my "date car" with my wife. I have a post in the vintage car section cause I want to sell it and get a Pagoda. Any comments?

Blue Skies and Curvey Roads!

R. Swearingen,

Really? We must get together for some Benz chat! Good to know another Benz freak is in Medina. I'm not here during the week as I work in Cincinnati, but any weekend I'd be glad to meet ya. Which model MB do you own?

Yeah, Neil Young was incredible! I never would have thought they could make it through 30 songs! 98.5 was playing CSNY most of the day today, which was a nice wrap up to a great show!

Deezel:

A pagoda SL would certainly be a good car as a replacement for the VW. I'm not terribly fond of the 230 or the 250, but the 280 is a great car. Find a late one in good shape (they were known for rust) and you will definitely have a great car for when CSNY hits your town!
