More wonderful AC questions for Larry Bible or whom ever.

OK I still have not taken the AC system apart. I'm waiting for my guages. Plus I've had lots of wonderful things going on here.
But the SDL needs a charge, bubbles in the R/D window and the system has not been touched in over 6 years. As well as the 300TD system rebuild.

1. I will probably buy the small cans of freon not a 20 Lb tank. What is the best way to use the can. I see that ACKITS has a side can tap. If you use this and you don't use the entire can what happens to the remaining freon. Is this a sealed system and you can use it latter for a recharge, if you screwed up and have a leak, or on another car?
Can you buy a tap for the top treads that will seal once your finished. I would hope so after all the EPA bull about releasing R12. What "tap" do you recommend?

2. In line filter. I would like to place a inline filter before the parallel flow condenser. In case the compressor self destructs I won't have to replace the PF condenser. What kind size etc. do you recommend or should I check with ACKITS or ACSOURCE.

3. Larry where do you get your AC supplies here in North Texas?

Thats it for now.

I think I can answer you first question and leave the rest for some one else to answer.
I used the small 12 OZ cans, DUEPOINT, and bought a AC filling kit from PepBoys for $7.oo. You might need to grind or cut the washer which comes with the kit, to make it fit on the can. But once you adjusted the size of washer, the T-Handle fits in pretty easy, and yes if you use half the can and leave the kit on the can, it will keep the freon from leaking.

I hope it helps.
