Hi all,
I have just had my car looked at by a mechanic and it requires a head gasket he said it would cost about 350 pounds to do he will also replace the front cover seal is this a good price, also should the head be skimmed or just a gasket change, is there any other work that should be carried out while the head is off ie valve seals etc.thanks in advance Bobby 1993 320CE 24V

Since the tappett pushes directly on top of the valve, I have never seen the guides or the seals worn unless the engine had been severly overheated in its life.
