Hello,
I have a1978 MB 280 CE.
The speedo works, but not the odometer. Any ideas?
Also, the car will not pass calif smog.
I replaced the smog / air pump that was lfrozen, and noticed the hose from it to the metal tube that runs to the exhaust heder pipe is kinked (not original "U" shaped). Could that be disallowing the additional air to dilute the exhaust?
Also, I need the height adjustment handles for the front seats, as they are broken.
Lastly, the dash has some cracks. Is there an easy replacement unit?

I have had a few cars where a small geared wheel located at the end of the speedometer shaft... has loosened and slid down the shaft. If so glue it back where it belongs. It's the gear that drives the odometer.

I am not familiar with how to pull the insrument panel on your car.

As far as your dash cracks, a dash cover would be the easy way to go, otherwise try an auto wreckers for both your handles and a dash top.

Sorry can't help with your emission problem, although I know there are additives you can try, to help get you through the test. I'm sure if you do a seach, there is a thread regarding this.
