Refrigerant Temperature Sensor
I just received a copy of a service bulletin for my 1997 Mercedes E320 to solve a problem I have been having with my EC button not shuting off. It states to replace the Refrigerant Temperature Sensor, yet I cannot find a parts listing for this item anywhere. Would this item go by a different name? Any suggestions on how I can obtain a part number? Once the repair is made, I will need to erase the DTC memory. Can someone explain how to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Refrigerant temperature Sensor
This must be a weak part as the one in my '97 E320 has been replaced twice. iI plugs into the evaporator which is under the center of the dash. Call Phil at PartsShop. he can help you get the latest version.
Last week I put out a querry here about what kind of A/C problems people were having with W210 cars. I don't find much on this site. Is that to say that the system in those cars has been relatively trouble free? Thanks. |

To replace the temp switch on the drier, the system must be dis-charged first.
The MB part number for that switch is 210-830-00-72 & list is $26.

Even though the part is cheap. this system is so easy to verify sensors on that one might as well test.
Look to this article it was writen for your car: http://www.continentalimports.com/ser_ic40142.html The most common reason for the compressor to shut off is the evap sensor actual value #5. The article also tells how to erase codes if I recall.
