Birthday present and a great sale on AC equipment.

Well I'm a year older today, 49. 11 more years till I have to retire.
We have to retire at 60.

The presents I bought myself, of course with the wifes permission.

A Robinair vacuum pump. The 4 CFM unit for $205 also oil and fittings

http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/shop/ROB-15434.html

And an electronic leak detector for $86.48 from Robinair

http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/shop/ROB-16600.html

They had some great prices on tools.

Heres the site for all the AC equipment they have to sell

Well it time to celebrate the old man getting older!! I'm going to try to keep getting older for the next 50 years or so!!
The wife has made German food. Chicken schnitzel, spaetzle, German potato salad, red cabbage and apple sauce. Well open a bottle of Spatleze. And enjoy a little bit of Germany in Colleyville. I love the German food and I have no German heritage in me. 1/2 Irish
1/4 Dutch and 1/4 Mutt.

Should we watch a good Geman movie? Das Boot---Nah. But a good guy movie.

Dave

Oh yea!! were having a German Chocolate Cake, birthday cake. and home made chocolates. My daughter makes chocolates.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

And pass a triple helping of spaetzles this way. I'll just fill up on them and save the cake for you .

I haven't decided if manditory retirement is a good thing or not yet. I turn 44 this year, can retire in 2 years (but don't get retirement pay until reaching 50), retire with full benny's in 6 years and have to walk out the door in 13. Our manditory age is 57.

Enjoy your day.

Dave,

Okay, we'll be right over. Happy Birthday and thanks for the dinner invitation, sounds great!

On the serious side, you made a wise choice going with a 4 CFM pump. The smaller ones get REALLY hot if you try to run them very long. You should be able to run the 4 overnight.

Sometimes I wish I had stayed in the Army. That way I would have already been retired for the last fifteen years. I'm 54 and have had to arrange my own retirement via 401K's, IRA's and hoping that land prices go up.

Happy Birthday,

Someone once said that if one is doing what one likes then one is always on vacation. Someday I'll have to take a break.

I hate to burst your bubble, guys, but mandatory retirement is illegal in most cases. Equal Employment Opportunity Act. In my shop, most of the people are over 65, including myself. They are the best workers - motivated, dedicated, healthy and have good sense of humor.
I'd be lost without them. I'm still working, but my real job is restoring two 300TDs.

Well, I really hate to burst your bubble burst, but there are many jobs where mandatory retirement is legal. Certain "higher" stress jobs for instance - law enforcement, and airline pilots come to mind.

At least you quanified your statement with "in most cases".

I believe Dave and I both fall in the listed categories.
