adsitco mirror housing?

http://www.adsitco.com/newdesign/productdetail.asp?ID=5543

It shows $59.00

Is it the back cover for the driver side? Their site isn't too specific.

Mirror Assemblies - 140

Part Number: 081-1011
Model: **LEFT HOUSING
Notes: (ORDER BY COLOR)
Price: $59.00

I tried contacting their tech support and I get an error.

My guess is that the $59 81-1011 is for the 96-99 W140 and the $249 81-4011 is for the 92-95 W140. The 81-1011 is also listed for the W210 which shares mirror parts with the later W140.

It might work out cheaper for you to update your car to 96-99 mirrors on both sides.

How would I go about doing that.. Just slip off the back covers of my 1995 and slide on the covers for the 96-99?

Is it as simple as that or is body work required?

Thanks..

also..if I cant simply swap them w/o having to do body mod to the mirror assembly, is it cheaper just buying a set of chrome mirror covers for 59$ and painting them black or would that look funny?

I beleive they come in two versions: unpainted and chromed.

Both are covers to the existing mirrors. You add these on, but do not remove the existing mirror covers.

I did this with an old 300SD. It took some work to get the covers to fit correctly. One side was much harder than the other ... don't know why. I had to bend the metal a bit to get them to work.

The mirror covers attach via double-stick tape to the existing covers.

Hope this helps,

Haasman
