Fuel Overloading ~ Can't Drive To Get Diagnosed
 

1988 300SE OVERLOADING AT START ~ Can't drive it anywhere to get diagnosed.
I have just gotten a 1988 300SE that has been setting for much over a year. Removed the old gas and installed a new fuel pump. It starts good - runs a few minutes and then floods out - overloading and cutting the engine off. Black smoke is coming from the tail pipe, which gets "red" hot. Have checked the fuel lines. Help!! Doc.
