1986 2.3 16v hi all i have got what appears to be a vac hiss behind the centre dash. any ideas before i rip out the dash as to what it might be regards kc. its like having the radio on when not receiving a station(that is not the problem)

Vacuum is used to control the various flaps in the climate control system. There is a line running off the intake manifold that feeds the system. To verify the problem, you might try disconnecting it and plugging the engine side to see if that solves stops the noise.
