300CE retractable seat belts

Is there anything behind the instrument cluster that has to do with the seat belt mechanism? Removed the instrument cluster the other day and now seat belts don't work.
I hate it when these micro problems arise!! Any thoughts???

You mean yours still work??? My driver side one only works intermittently, the passenger side not at all. The one that does work catches on the trim, so I've been contemplating unplugging them both. If I can ever find my shop manual CD's I'll look this up for you.

Lucky me then, they are both still working!

There are at least two things that makes them move which must be connected to something under the dashboard. The ignition key and the door contact that together engage a relay somewhere...follow the wires?

Info is appreciated guys. Thanks a lot. It's one of those things that are kinda unique you know! You don't see them on all the cars.
I'll look underneath the dash again then and I'll let you know.
