I'm having new Eibach springs installed on my 98 C230 this week. I'm also having the suspension lowered by about 1 inch. I had an alignment done about a month ago when I upgraded my wheels to 17inch AMG Mono Blocks. Is it necessary to do a re-alignment after the changes are made to the suspension? The shop doing the work seems to be reputable, but this is my first experience with them and I'd rather get an objective opinion before I ask somebody who stands to gain from answer. I apologize if this is a dumb question, this is my first attempt at modifying a suspension (as minor as these modifications may be) so I'm learning as I go.

Any opinion would be appreciated

Absolutely.

The change in ride height alters everything. You probably won't even get close with camber unless your spindles are re-arced.

The toe will be the big change and will be correctable. It also eats tires when wrong, much more so than the small negative camber problem that you will create.

Thanks Steve. Like I said, I thought it was probably a dumb question. I just wanted to be sure. Up to this point I've never done anything more than upgrade the stereo in any one of my cars. I'm an absolute novice, as I'm sure that question made obvious. Thanks again..
