water pump gave up
 

Yesterday, my waterpump decided to quit. Water was streaming through the weepholes and I was lucky to have a switch which turned my electric fan to high so I did not overheat even if I was loosing water. When I got to my mechanic, the water was really pouring out of the pump so it was time to have it changed. Surprisingly, it took my mechanic less than an hour to fix it and the bill was surprising too, it just cost me the equivalent of 120US dollars (Im from the Philippines)for a brand new pump and labor. This cost so much less than what it cost to have the same problem fixed for my Japanese cars. Another reason to hang on to the old 260E.

Glad to see a Filipino in this forum? Man thats cheap. Here in US it will cost me $400.00 to fix water pump for my C 220. Hows the parts there in P.I. for the Benz? I'll see ya around.

I would probably be right to assume that you have filipino roots being in DalyCity where there is a large concentration of filipinos. Well parts here for Benz cars are very easy to source both brand new and surplus and there are a lot of shops specializing in Benz cars. Parts are cheaper than the new japanese cars which is really surprising. The happening cars here right now are European with a strong showing from MB, BMW, and Audi.
