Engine Coolant Drainin'/Flushin'

hello,
i'm planning on draining/flushing/refilling the coolant in the 2.6 190E. the bentley and haynes show how and what to do, however they don't highlight where the radiator or engine block drains are. any help? thanks.

Radiator drain is at the lower, passenger side corner of the radiator.

Block Drain is near the rear of the block, on the passenger side, below the exhaust manifold.

Both of these are easier to access from underneath.

Good luck,

The radiator drain is accessed by removing the pop out cover on the valence panel.

I do not know about the situation in the 2.6, but the drain plug(red) is VERY hard to get to on Behr radiators installed in the 3.0 in the 126 cars.

It's easier to simply pull the hose off the lower inside of the radiator(passenger side). Doing this drains the radiator and the pressurized overflow tank.

Piece o' cake on a 190. The radiator drain has a nipple for about 1/4" ID hose so you can drain it without spilling a drop. The engine drain plug also has a nipple on the end. Loosen it with a crescent or socket, then attach a suitable size hose to the nipple and route it down to a drain pan and hand turn about one to two turns out.

They did a nice job making coolant changes easy and mess-free on 190's.
