In the do it yourself oil change write-up there is a reference to priming the V8 engines before restarting in order to avoid timing chain tensioner rattle.
How does one prime the engine and is this procedure also recomended for the in-line sixes? |

Look on the left inner fender well and you'll see a green wire with a plug on the end of it going to a black box. Pull this wire and set it aside and crank the engine for 10 seconds or so then go plug the wire back in and she'll fire right up with instant oil pressure. Hope this helps! ------------------ Rgds, Aaron Greenberg MB technician Precision Motorcars, Cincinnati, Ohio '67 250SE Cabriolet '77 450SL '80 300SD '85 380SE '89 420SEL '93 300E 2.8 '74 Jensen Interceptor Mk.III '81 DeLorean DMC12 '85 BMW 745i Turbo |
