Urgent help with holding lock for crankshaft/ring gear
I decided to change the guide rails. Now, I am stuck. I can not remove the the belt pulley since I do not have the the crakshaft/ring gear holding lock. Can I used something else? I do not want to break anything. I will post on a separate post for immediate answer.
This is from a different post but, I need help soon. Thanks!

JH - some folks may not buy into this procedure but I take a really large screwdriver and hold it against the tranny case while it is jammed into the tooth on the flywheel. I get my strongest friend with about a 4-6' breaker bar/cheater pipe to break the front crank pully bolt loose. It ain't pretty but it will work.

I used the starter
This sounds dangerous but I did it.. First of all your engine rotate clockwise right?? get a breaker bar with a half inch drive and a 27 mm socket, put the 27mm socket onto the head bolt, rest the breaker bar on a floor jack stand to the right. Remove all spark plugs and coil. Now crank the engine with the key so momentary, don't crank too long. I did it without a swet.

Thanks!
It is out. I used a 6' breaker bar and a metal wedge.
