misaligned hood..???

I'm PISSED!!! Replaced the A/C compressor on my car. Took it to the local JIFFY LUBE to have the system evacuated. I go back in an hour and pick up the car. Come home and lift the hood to recharge.......the hood hits me in the head. I CAN'T GET THE HOOD TO STAY OPEN!!!!!! The hood was working properly the day before. It stayed open for 5 hours by itself when I adjusted valaves and cleaned injectors. I called and *****ed and scheduled an appointment at the not so local dealer bodyshop. i can't find anything wrong (visually) with the hinges. What the hell is going on??

Why on earth would you trust your car at a place called Jiffy Lube? Hell, I don't even live in the US and they sound dodgy.

I hope you don't trust them with your Ducati

You probably have a broken hood spring. If so, check the hood with a magnet to see if it is steel or aluminum. There are two different springs used depending on the hood material.
