W126 aux fan resistor location HELP!
I am having problems with my aux fan. It does not come on. I have checked the R12 and am correctly pressurized. I have read that the aux fan resistor is a usual suspect. I ordered and received one from FASTLANE and for the life of me cannot find anything similar in my engine compartment. The closest that I can find is pictured. On alldata it says that its located near the brake fluid reservoir and the photo shows about the only thing that resembles a resistor. Is this the right OEM (in the photo) resistor?? I appreciate any help/guidance. Thanks, R@Z

The the "thing" in the middle photo is not the resistor? I ohmed it and it read .2 Ohms and the new resitor measured .3 ohms. It's the only thing I could find close? Do I need to look "better"?
Thanks R@Z

The thing in the photo is the inside blower fuse (most likely).
The resistor is totally at the bottom of the well you are picturing. I have had two of the 126 cars catch fire from the dryed leaves that accumulate on top of it. We now consider vacuuming that area a part of our yearly servicing (if not done by the detailer).

You were indeed correct! Thanks alot guys. It was below the master cylinder, under leaves. I never would have guessed it would be mounted on the bottom. Is there any way to replace it w/out the removal of the master cylinder? FWIW, it was the blower fuse in the photo, disconnected one end and no fan inside.
Thanks guys!
