after many nights of being brainwashed in my dorm by infomercials, i am beginning to question the effectiveness of a product called vmax. it is supposedly a cleaning system that cleans out carbon deposits, and u put it into the oil, transmission, and coolant systems...anybody tried this stuff? i feel shamed even to consider putting that kind of infomercial stuff into my Mercedes engine, but if it does in fact prove beneficial to the car, then why not...thanks for the responses...

You might as well get a few rolls of quarters and drop them in the various systems this stuff is supposed to improve. Seriously, would you believe that one product could do all of those wonderful things. Use good gasoline, change your oil frequently and maintain your cooling system. That's the best way to avoid all the problems those informercials tell you that you'll have if you don't use their version of mechanical miracle. Save your money and get an exra oil change..
