190E warm start-up revs. all over the place!

Car starts, and idles very smoothly when cold.
When car is warmed up and I start it-it revs between 7 and 15 for about 7-9 times, then smooths out. A little sooner if I race engine.
Any ideas?

Could be the airflow meter potentiometer is starting to wear out, or the rotary idle air valve is gummy. Since you don't mention any problems with idle after initial start, there are probably no serious vacuum leaks.

If your car has an idle control valve, remove the valve, get some "carb cleaner" and spray it out. It might make the world of a difference.
