How much vacuum? Steve,Larry

Tranny shifts a little rough so i turned the "T" in the modulator two turns. It now shifts a little better. My question is,how many turns on the "T" can i make without damaging the trans, and how can i tell if there is enough vacuum comming out of the engine?Since i do not have vacuum guage, whith the engine at idel,i put my finger on the vacuum port on the engine and feel nothing.

No offense, but "I don't have a vacuum gauge" is not a reason to find another way to test your modulator. Get a vacuum gauge. They don't cost that much.

That said, you should see ~18" of vacuum at idle.
