Help! Broken AC fan bracket.
I hit a bump the other day and the bracket that holds down the AC fan, underneath the cabin filter, broke off. Now if I hit a bump the whole fan assembly shifts and the fan hits the housing causing a loud screech. I tried to get a tie down around it, but my hands can't fit into that space!!! How do I get into this space? I am afraid that I am going to have to go in thru the dash, anyone know of an easy way to remove the housing and/or the fresh air flaps. The bracket is definitely broken and beyond repair. I would replace it, but I cannot reach it!
I also broke one of the plastic levers on the fresh air flaps that connects to the solenoid that opens and closes them, sigh, any suggestions? It's a 1996 SL500. |
Hello Doc,
That plastic mount is available & we replace then all of the time! MB part number 129-830-01-03 list $202. |
Thanks M.B. DOC. Is this hard to replace? Does this need to have the dash removed? I'm hoping its not something that drastic. My problem is not getting the part, it is actually reaching it to replace it.
