Mercedes 230CE , 1988
Hi All
Quick question... I would like to lower my 230CE (1988) but am not too sure what size springs i would need to fit...The reason i ask is because i would like to put on some 17inch AMG rims but feel the current gap between the arch and the wheel is too large. What i don't want to do is lower too much so they rub or cause problems over speed bumps... Would a 30mm drop be sufficient or too much? Also what would be the best brand to buy? Lastly, what is the drop on sportline suspension? Thanks |

I would keep the current spring pads and get a set of H&R springs and bilstien sport shocks. Make sure your car doesn't have the self levelling rear suspension. I don't think Eibach makes a set of springs for the 230E(or CE) otherwise that would have been ideal.
The Bilstien sprintline kit which comes complete with shocks lowers 45mm but then you'll get into camber issues, same goes for the SPAX spring sets which get really low. Hope this helps. |
