tranny vacume modulator hose 420 sel

my modulator hose for my tranny on my 420 sel came off and I can't find where to hook it up. I called the dealer and they said follow the fill tube down and I'll find the port there,no luck.I've looked everywhere and I cant find where it hooks up on the engine.HELP also I think I read in a previous post that this can make the car not shift right in 2nd and 3rd. so I spliced in to another line for vacume and it did'nt seem to help.thanks for any and all advice

Should be on the rear of the intake manifold, probably right side, may be fairly far down there. You will have to take the air filter off and look -- it's a brass barb fitting, I think.

The 4.5L with D-jetronic has a banjo bolt and a steel line, so I suppose the 420 is different.

Just did another one this week, always seems to be a 420 never a 560, weird.

The pipe (the rubber attaches to) is part of a banjo fitting straight down behind the linkages at the center back of the motor. It is so far back that the area can be seen with the aircleaner still attached. I forget what is fed by that banzo fitting, probably all the inside vacuum units (AC). If you follow the brake booster vacuum line it will take you within two inches.
