Hello evryone,
I curently own a 123 300d. Great car except for the lack of acceleration. I would like to start looking for an "upgrade" to a newer and faster model. I perticularly like the 300CE's (124chasis) or the 190 (201chasis).
I am interested in finding a gas engine powered car with a turbo, as these engines are the easiest to increase the output power on. Are there any available? What are your recomendations?
Thanks.
Mark.

None of the w201 or w124 had turbo/super chargers from the factory. The w124 (300E, E320, 400E, E420, E500, 500E) did have bigger engines because they had a bigger engine compartment. The w201 came in a 2.3-16 valve version for the late 80s, and also had the 2.6 based of the 3.0 m103 engine all the way upto 93 (the last year.) Many people customize the w201 (190E) because they were lighter and cheaper, and those who want to customize benzes would be doing it to the w201. Those who do it to the w124 end up spending a little more money to do it. But those who havce the V8, don't mind it because they were meant for it.

I had a 93 190E 2.6, and I sold it. I had basically dropped in a 3.0 froma 300E, and then had it bored and stroked to a 3.2 by this guy who got the parts from RennTECH's manufacturer for dirt cheap. I don't know what happened to the guy, because I went by Elkton, MD and didn't see his shop there any more. My 190E costed close to an extra $12k in mods (3.2L engine, brembo brakes, 5-speed manual from 300E, superchip, wheels, EVO II kit, repaint, Euro Headlights with Xenon lights, complete sound system, Eibach springs, etc.) I got a lot bang for the buck, but It wasn't as nicely put together as I would have liked. Next time since I know what I am doing, I can be more careful and keep a better eye out.

Just my 2 cent$. P.S. I am selling my other 93 190E 2.6. I have been the original owner of this one, if you have any questions let me know

If you are into the 124 chasis, be sure to get the late 104 engine. It is one of the most reliable I have seen. IT is fast and reliable.
