Warning; High on the dipstick was 3 litres!!!

In the future I think I will use my good old BMW-garage...
Not only that the MB-guys canŽt help me to sort out the problem causing my car go into limp mode on hot days. I have seen the dipstick showing a little high and was waiting to burn away some oil so it got down to normal.
A little impressed by my own driving, none of my cars has ever been consuming oil between services, I also got a little worried.
Bought a pump and started to pump out oil, checked, pumped, checked, pumped and finally had about three litres in the bucket!
The garage must have filled new oil without draining the old or what??
Unfortunately the limp problem persists, but I am glad no other problems has developed due to the high level...as far as I know anyway.
My warning is; Be aware that a little high level can be a lot!! The dipstick is not telling you more than it is high, not really how high as they used to on older cars. (It wasnŽt beyond the red plastic part).

Did the oil you removed smell like gasoline and seems to lack viscosity? If so, it may not be that it was overfilled, but rather you have a stuck fuel injector or fuel distribution device allowing gasoline to leak thru the cylinder into the crankcase, raising the level. This would explain, perhaps, the computer shunt to "limp" mode as well.

It's a long shot, but I had this happen with a Jeep Cherokee once. Oil level kept getting higher. FWIW.

Thanks for the idea, which was my first concern as well.
But oil is just fine and normal. After my operation I have been driving for hours (some 500 km:s) in very hot weather to see if there should be any change, both with regards to the limp problem or the level coming up, but the level is 100% constant and the limp is unfortunately coming back. But, maybe not as frequent as before which gives me a little hope....
IŽll soon make another oilservice with new filter to be on the safe side anyway. As far as I remember, last time I got Shell Helix 10/40 fully synthetic.
which I hope is a good four season oil?
