heat stay on 190E
I submitted a recent inquiry about the heat staying on in my 1989 190E 2.6. The opinion was that perhaps the vacum operated heater control valve part was the culprit.
I acquired the $20.00 part, but can't seem to locate where it is to be installed. I suspect it might be under the dash somewhere. Has anyone replaced this part, and is it's installation that difficult? Please respond. Marty. |

If I remember correctly, it's under the screen below the windshield. Here's a link that helped me when my blower motor needed service:
W124 Blower Motor Removal Photos It shows you how to get the screen off, then it should just be a matter of loosening a couple of hose clamps. (again, if my memory serves me) Good luck. Jeff Pierce

Dang, that's a good DIY page.
We need to build a library, by car, on this page. Just need to have 'em reviewed by Gilly, Steve, etc., as to general accuracy. I'm in for a W201.
