1984 300td rear axles

Has anyone changed out the rear axles on a 123? I have the 'homokinetic' type with the 8mm bolts. Are there any tricks to look out for? Should I re-grease the rear wheel bearings at the same time? I want to do this only once. Speak up!! Thanks in advance. R.

I would leave the rear wheel bearings alone unless they are noisy or you suspect they have a problem. Do a search on changing the 1/2 shafts out. Easy, Sat morning diy'er type of job.

Oh yea - welcome aboard.
