Same thing happened to me in the spring. The strip fuse looked ok until I touched it, then you could see the crack. Nice cheap fix for a change. I even bought two.

even old threads can be so helpful!!
spent yesterday getting the '86 560SEL ready for son to take to prom. on way home from filling with gas A/C blower just quit. pressing climate control buttons would turn compressor on and make doors work but no fan. so because he had less than an hour before he had to leave we quickly got Mom's '01 T&C Limited ready. thankfully he really doesn't care much about what he drives but I felt bad he had to go to the prom in a "Mom mobile". So this morning I read about the fuse. However, on my '86 there is a yellow wire in front of the fuse box with a 30 amp blade fuse in it. to the eye it looked ok until I pulled it out and could actually see it was bad. new fuse and everything works like normal again. BUT what would cause the fuse to blow? |
