W140 - 95 S420 window express up

All windows go down with the one-touch feature. The back windows go all the way up with the one-touch feature. The front windows go about two-thirds of the way up then go back down and stop at the halfway point. It does that with subsequent taps of the one-touch button. If I stay on the one-touch button to about the three-quarter up point, the windows close. All windows work predictably using the first switch detent.

Is this normal? Why the seeming safety feature in front and not in the back?

Thanks,
Sixto

Sorry about the confusion. The windows roll up properly with the remote. One-touch button = second detent on the console window switch.
