Hi members,
Recently while replacing my fuel pump, I found a crack on the subframe on my 190. it crack at the joint that crosses the whole front and attach the front of the diff. I just wonder if I am the only one or if anyboby has that experience too. I had it welded and it doesn't seem there are any more problems. |

I stumbled across this interesting post and saw it did not have any replies. I replied to get it back near the top! Any one care to comment?

Under severe conditions one of anything can fail! Never seen any problem with rear subframe on any Benz. A good welding job should do just fine.

The only pattern failures with sub frames that I know of is the front subframe on early 107 chassis.
The only other subframe problems I have seen have been corrosion or accident (or both) related. ------------------ Steve Brotherton Owner 24 bay BSC Bosch Master, ASE master L1 26 years MB technician |
